High-Tech Navigation
Mills-Peninsula orthopedic surgeons are first in the San Francisco Bay Area to introduce a new computer tool that improves the quality of hip and knee replacement, usually including shortening hospital and rehabilitation time.
The new Stryker navigation tool uses computer technology to guide positioning the replacement joint. An infrared camera and instruments, along with unique tracking software, monitor the position, angles and alignment of the implant in relation to the patient's anatomy.
