Construction Timeline
Here is a construction timeline to help patients, employees and neighbors understand the evolving building at 1501 Trousdale Drive (at El Camino Real), with a target for construction substantial completion of July 2010 and hospital opening date of November 2010.
- Construction of the new hospital is now about 82 percent complete. The steel structure is complete and installation of exterior skin is approximately 92 percent weather-tight. All precast concrete skin has been placed. Glass wall and Aluminum panels are completed.
- The interior build out of the hospital patient rooms and diagnostic departments is under way and in many areas is nearly complete. Permanent elevators are now operational, permanent power is on and crews have begun testing building systems. Interior drywall is nearing completion in 2/3 of the building and paint and finishes are now being placed on levels 3, 4 and 5. The majority of interior construction is scheduled to be complete March 2010.
- The MOB (medical office building) located next to the new hospital is now 69 percent complete. The MOB houses 80,000 sq. ft. of hospital departments with the remaining 100,000 sq. ft. dedicated to medical office space.
- Site work: with the hospital approaching completion, site work at the loading dock is under way with the installation of holding tanks for diesel fuel and sewage. Final site utilities are nearing completion and landscaping work is set to begin.
