Hospital Foundation
Mills-Peninsula enjoys a special partnership with the community -- a partnership based on a tradition of people supporting the excellent health care that defines Mills-Peninsula Health Services.

In 1973, the Mills Memorial Hospital Foundation was formed to strengthen the financial base of the hospital and direct its fund raising program. Today, the Foundation's fund raising efforts include corporate and foundation solicitations, planned giving and direct mail. A volunteer Board of Trustees consisting of community leaders, business executives and physicians governs the Foundation.

Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs
The Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs provide low-income active seniors an opportunity to subsidize their income through volunteer service. Sponsored by Mills-Peninsula Senior Focus and part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the programs link senior volunteers with agencies serving children and seniors in need within San Mateo County.

Foster Grandparents provide mentoring and nurturing to at-risk children at settings such as day-care facilities and Head Start programs. Senior Companions assist frail seniors and homebound adults at settings such as adult day care centers and low-income housing sites.

Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions receive small tax-free stipends in return for 15-20 hours of volunteer service weekly.
