Service List

Risk assessment

  • Lipid testing (more precise blood test measuring all components of cholesterol)
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Diabetes screening

    Noninvasive diagnostic imaging
  • Noninvasive ultrasound screening for heart disease and stroke known as Intima-Media Thickness (IMT)

    Cardiac catheterization (Cath) laboratories
Two state-of-the-art digital cardiac catheterization laboratories. The new technology reduces steps required in traditional imaging, prevents image distortion and reduces radiation dosage.

    Cath lab services
  • Coronary angiography (creates images of arteries to determine thickening)
  • Coronary angioplasty (placement of slender devices called stents to expand vessels) Mills-Peninsula cardiologists use primarily drug-eluting stents, which have been shown to greatly reduce re-narrowing of stented arteries
  • Peripheral arterial angioplasty (arteries in the abdomen, legs or neck)
  • Treatment for atrial fibrillation

    Cardiac electrophysiology
  • Electrical study and correction of heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmia)
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • Implantation of defibrillators and other electrical corrective devices

    Cardiac surgery

  • Coronary bypass surgery
  • Valve repair and replacement
  • Treatment for atrial fibrillation
  • Placement of grafts and stents inside an artery without actually opening the vessel

    Vascular surgery
  • Surgery of the aorta and peripheral vessels
  • Minimally invasive vascular surgical techniques (arteries in the abdomen, legs and neck)
  • Varicose vein repair: Minimally invasive treatment that uses heat applied inside veins instead of removing them

    Cardiac rehabilitation
Education and monitored exercise to help people who have experienced cardiovascular disease including heart attack, bypass surgery or angioplasty. Set and attain a goal for healthy living and symptom management. Physician referral required.
Monday-Saturday. Mills Health Center, Peninsula Medical Center. Fee.

    Vascular improvement program
For those experiencing leg pain or other circulation problems. Doctor referral required.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Mills Health Center, Peninsula Medical Center. Fee.

    Heart failure disease management
Mills-Peninsula doctors and specially trained nurses are working with their counterparts in the Sutter Health network to improve management of chronic heart failure with medications and lifestyle changes. At Mills-Peninsula, people with heart failure receive individualized education and monitoring.

    Metabolic syndrome program
    For children and adults.
