About Our Connected Medical Groups
MPMG is an Independent Practice Association (IPA) formed in 1994. Today it includes more than 300 primary care and specialist physicians in practice throughout San Mateo County.
In an effort to continue to provide high quality health care to patients in the community, MPMG teamed up with Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) in 2010, transitioning management of MPMG HMO contracts to PAMF in 2011.
Doctors from PAMF’s Mills-Peninsula Division and MPMG together form the Mills-Peninsula Physician Network, dedicated to providing multispecialty care to patients in San Mateo County. The network works closely with Mills-Peninsula Health Services, which operates Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame and Mills Health Center in San Mateo.
The Palo Alto Medical Foundation for Health Care, Research and Education (PAMF) is a not-for-profit, community-based health care organization with nearly 2,000 physicians and 5,400 employees. PAMF is the overarching administrative arm for two multispecialty physician groups - Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) and Peninsula Medical Clinic (PMC). PAFMG physicians primarily provide care for residents of Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. PMC physicians primarily provide care for residents in San Mateo County.
