Work out with a view
Work out on a variety of exercise and weight training equipment as you enjoy one of the mid–Peninsula's best views. Exercise physiologists and other staff ensure that your fitness program will be appropriate, safe and suited to your abilities.
In addition to the Fitness Center, which is geared for individual exercise, Mills-Peninsula offers a variety of exercise classes, as well as special programs for seniors, women, people recovering from stroke and cardiac illness, or who have disabilities.
The latest equipment
The Fitness Center features the latest exercise equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, recumbent bikes, Stairmasters, NuSteps, rowing machines, arm ergometers, crossrobics, free weights, Cybex and Hydrafit strength training machines.
Convenient hours
The Fitness Center is open seven days a week, making it easy to fit exercise into a busy schedule.
Monday-Friday: 5 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
Memberships
General: 18 years or older
Senior: 62 years or older
Corporate: Five or more employees from an organization
Student: Valid student ID required
For each type of membership:
All memberships require an orientation fee. Membership includes: stretching, stability ball, circuit training, abdominal classes and lunch time walking program.
Getting started
The first step in joining the Center is getting written clearance from your doctor for unsupervised exercise. Then, set up an appointment for orientation with an exercise physiologist, who will design a program to meet your individual needs and show you how to use the equipment safely. Once your program is established, you may drop in at your convenience.

Seniors in Motion
60-minute supervised group exercise class geared for seniors.
Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. Fee. Doctor’s written clearance and orientation (free) required.
Ease into Exercise
For people who have not been active. Focuses on increasing flexibility and endurance.
Classes meet Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Saidy Conference Room, Mills Health Center. Fee.
Healthy Women
Structured 60-minute cardiovascular and strength training workout led by an exercise physiologist.
Classes meet Monday/Thursday at 2:45 p.m. Fee. Doctor’s written clearance and orientation (free) required.
Fitness improvement testing
Fitness evaluation. Assess body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, aerobic capacity, EKG, cholesterol, more.

Rush hour fitness class
75-minute exercise encompassing cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and stability ball training. Yearly evaluation included.
Classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Fee.
Individual exercise at home
Personal home program designed by exercise physiologist. Come to our fitness center or have us come directly to your home.

Exercise Support
One–on–one sessions with an exercise physiologist who tailors exercises to meet specific goals. Land and water training available.

Spinal Sensibility
Eight–part series emphasizes back and spine care, good posture, flexibility exercises, more.

Supervised indoor walking for beginning, advanced walkers.

Weigh to Go
To help people who have had obesity surgery make exercise a part of daily routine. Comprehensive support from an exercise physiologist. Pre- and post-op consultation, individualized exercise program, phone support available.
