About The Dorothy L. and James E. Frank Diabetes Research Institute

The Institute, funded by a grant from the Frank family, is a leading Bay Area research institution dedicated to improving quality of life for people with diabetes.

Researchers work with health care companies that are developing diabetes management treatments and technologies such as needle-free devices for injecting insulin; safer, more effective oral medications; and less painful, more convenient blood tests.

People who participate in Institute studies have access to advanced medical instruments, measuring devices and medications before these products are available to the public. Research participants are compensated.
