More than 91,000 American women each year are diagnosed with gynecologic cancer, including cancers of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, endometrium, vagina and vulva. Among the most common gynecologic cancers are:
Your care is designed to provide advanced treatments and technologies while minimizing the impact on your body. Our services include:
Medical oncology, including chemotherapy that directly kills cancer cells, hormone therapy to block hormones that allow your cancer to grow, and targeted therapy that interferes with cancer cells’ ability to grow and spread.
Radiation oncology, including internal radiation (brachytherapy) as well as external beam radiation. External radiation uses highly focused x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors before or after surgery. Vaginal brachytherapy uses an applicator through which tiny radioactive seeds are placed in the vagina near the cancer. The seeds are left in for five to 10 minutes at a time, directly targeting tumors and sparing nearby tissue.
Surgical oncology, using minimally invasive surgery when possible, to remove tumors and sections of tissue where cancer has spread.
Oncology rehabilitation, including physical and occupational therapy, with a focus on recovering function and improving your quality of life.
Symptom management, guided by our advanced practice nurse navigators to help you manage and reduce side effects from treatment and ease the symptoms of cancer.
Nutrition services, which help reduce symptoms such as nausea, dehydration, diarrhea or constipation. We also work with you to boost your appetite and energy.
Support and counseling, including emotional counseling and referral to support groups for you and your family.
As a team, we work with you and your family to make sure you have the best possible outcome. We’re with you from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship.
