Relapse Prevention & Restabilization Program
Substance abuse, like many chronic conditions, often requires long-term treatment. Many people relapse once or more, and it is not a failure. It may take time to fully develop the skills to live with sobriety. It takes careful planning and a lot of support to overcome the challenges people face in recovery.
It’s important to know that people do recover from substance abuse and addiction. After a relapse, the most crucial step you can take is to get back into relapse prevention treatment quickly. Mills-Peninsula is here to help.
Relapse Prevention Plan
Our six-week relapse prevention program is designed to help people who relapse after having at least six months of sobriety. The program includes participation in the Intensive Outpatient Program (noon or evening) three days a week.
Relapse prevention treatment focuses on learning from your relapse, re-establishing sobriety and rebuilding support for your addiction recovery. As a participant, you create a personal relapse prevention plan, and strengthen your relapse prevention skills.
Ongoing Substance Abuse Recovery
After successfully completing the Relapse Prevention and Restabilization Program, you can participate in another six months of ongoing substance abuse recovery group sessions at no charge.
Ongoing addiction recovery groups meet weekly, and are open to patients, family and significant others.
