Total Joint Replacement-Tuesday Classes
The Joint Replacement Pre-Operative Class is an informative free one hour class to help you prepare for your surgery and recovery. Our specially trained Orthopedic Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Case Management staff present on their expertise. You will learn:
Helpful tips on how to prepare for surgery- meal planning, home safety, transportation, help at home
What to expect the Day of Surgery- what to bring to the hospital, registration process, location of surgical waiting area for family/friends
Inpatient Recovery- pain management, rehabilitation, precautions, hospital equipment
Discharge Process- home safety equipment, possibilities of locations for post-op recovery and rehabilitation
The Orthopedic staff encourages all patients scheduled for Joint Replacement surgery and their family/caregivers attend this class, so that you become a well informed participant and receive the best possible recovery and outcome from your surgery.
A voluntary tour of the Surgical Waiting Area, Orthopedic Unit is available following the class.
